In 2015, the Board of Regents approved the enhancement of the Teaching Assistantship Program. Proposed revisions that would address implementation problems were submitted to and approved by the Board in its 1349^th meeting on November 28, 2019.

Overload teaching is discouraged in the University. Previous administrative issuances and Board decisions provided policies and guidelines on overload honoraria (see Chapter 5.2.12 Overload). In its 1335th Meeting (31 May 2018), the Board approved the change in policy on overload such that effective AY 2019-2020, faculty members in all CUs who are handling small classes will get overload pay, provided, that there is a strong justification from their respective units that they have exhausted all possible administrative solutions to the issue of small classes.

Since its establishment during the 1309th BOR Meeting (22 July 2015), proposals for the amendment of the criteria and implementing guidelines to the One UP Professorial Chair and Faculty Grant Awards were submitted to the Board for confirmation and approval. During its 1334th meeting on 6 April 2018, the Board gave the UP President the discretion to waive certain guidelines in meritorious cases and re-affirmed its decision during the 1340th BOR Meeting.
